I am a songwriter heavily influenced by traditional folk songs and early music. My original songs I consider to be very singable, and I like lyrics to be intelligent and imaginative, I sometimes add a macabre twist ...or 2.

I was with the short-lived but pretty successful 80's folk band 'Sherwood Rise' that made the LP of Robin Hood-related songs and tunes 'From the Wood', I now perform songs solo at folk clubs and festivals, mostly my own material, but sometimes trad songs I've arranged or adapted, accompanied by lute or 12 string guitar.

I'm now in a recording partnership with Wilson Walker, who adds some very creative fiddle harmonies, bringing out a CD in 2018 'And So To Bedlam' (percussion kindly provided by Neil Rabjohn) and the 2025 EP 'Old Bones and Silver Fishes' with the magical bodhran playing of Daniel Kittmer.
