Originally this was a song about spiritual revival in Lincolnshire, and astonishingly got to the Write a Song for Lincolnshire final - but didn't win. I've rewritten it so it's more general and added a middle section since then. 'Come Lord, come with power... with fire and flame.' Not literally, obviously...?
From the Mountains
From the mountains to the valleys
From the hills to the open seas
Hear us in these desperate times
And come in power, make real your prophecies.
Come Lord, come with power
Come Lord, come with fire.
Come Lord, with fire and flame
Come revive us once again.
Send the flames on down the river,
Blaze the lands that we have drained,
Set a fire in our dry hearts
Come O Lord, revive us once again.
Come Lord, come with power
Come Lord, come with fire.
Come Lord, with fire and flame
Come revive us once again.
We are waiting, praying pleading,
Standing on your promises
Hear us Lord, lay bare your holy arm and
Speak your prophecies.
Show the power of your name and
Send the fire and the flame and
Come Lord, come with power,
Come Lord, come with fire.
Come Lord, with fire and flame
Come revive us once again.
Let the storm engulf the landscape
Far horizons bathed in flame
Give a voice to our aching hearts
And come O Lord, revive us once again.
Come Lord, come with power
Come Lord, come with power
Come Lord, come with fire.
Come Lord, with fire and flame
Come and revive us once again.
We are waiting, praying pleading,
Standing on your promises
Hear us Lord, lay bare your holy arm and
Speak your prophecies.
Show the power of your name and
Send the fire and the flame and
Come Lord, come with power,
Come Lord, come with fire.
Come Lord, with fire and flame
Come revive us once again.
Send your fire in hearts and veins, and
Come O Lord, revive us once again
