This Way That Way
A 3 hour challenge at a songwriting course... write a song about an electric car! This is about the owls who mistake it for a top predator moving in on their patch.
This Way That Way
This way that way
Blink and stare
Stare and blink
Blink and glare
This way that way
Blink and stare
Stare and blink
Blink and glare

We see the night, we hear the slightest sound and scrabble
We're death on wings, we're uncrowned kings of the woodland rabble

A silent killer's flying through the night
Great round eyes filled with light
Breaking all the rules of the kill
That we all keep
That you eat your fill
And you kill to eat

It hunts not in fields but on the hard back
Leaves no prints and leaves no tracks
Breaking all the rules of the kill
It should be keeping
Leaves bodies a-bleeding
And wounded and weeping

This way that way

But this great beast flies low and fell
Hunts by dark and day as well
Breaking all the rules of the kill
Slaying at will
Not eating its kill
Then a thought strikes us
And affrights us...
Is it hunting or running from something
More evil still...?

This way that way...

Now FLEE!!
